Let’s begin with what I do for a living. Put simply, my line of work is transformative technology: I help companies put the latest tools to use, allowing them to do amazing things. In the recent past, I helped Shaw Communications, one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies, implement OSS and BSS technology that allowed the organization’s leaders to more effectively understand and process massive amounts of data more effectively, enabling them to make more informed decisions about the organization’s future.
While at Shaw, I had the opportunity to cross paths with a truly innovative company called Next IT, the world-leader in natural-language processing, conversational interfaces and Intelligent Virtual Assistants. Their software provides a simple interface between people and machines using conversation. The result is machines that function like an extension of a person’s will. Devices respond to voice commands, and navigation of seas of information becomes nearly effortless. As you read on and learn more about me, you’ll discover why this novel way of empowering people is so important to me. For now, it’s sufficient to say that the company’s vision for the future is closely aligned with my own, and I’m now its chief technical officer.
